So Tempting…

Left unfinished by Amy :) @ 4:14 pm

I’ve been checking my favorite bands’ websites to see if maybe I could sneak in one last concert before the baby is born, and of course none of them were touring. Or so I thought. I just looked and Guster will be in Cincinnati on April 8! If I haven’t had Jack by then, maybe I’ll go and hope that the excitement will make labor start. There’s even a contest where you could win passes to meet the band after the show - how cool would that be. I’m certainly not going to make any plans, since I hope Jack will already be here by then, but if he’s not…well, I’ll certainly consider it, that’s for sure.

Then, at the beginning of May They Might Be Giants will be here in Columbus. I highly doubt I’ll be going to that show. Which is too bad, but I have seen them about a dozen times. And they don’t appear to be going anywhere, so I suppose I’ll just have to see them next time. If you’re a TMBG fan (or even if you’re not) you should subscribe to their podcast. Hilariously offbeat, as you may expect! One of them even included a song that was megaphone crooned and ends with “Goodnight, Mrs. Hitler!” Now them’s the Giants I love.

Weird Goings On

Left unfinished by Amy :) @ 11:48 pm

I’ve just been alerted to the fact that some strange scripts have been running on certain pages of the Peelio site. The main page at www.peelio.com and my outer shell page at www.peelio.com/amy had both been infected in some way. I probably would have never noticed because I don’t go to those pages, I just go straight to the blogs (which seem to be ok, but I’ll do some more thorough searching). I also probably wouldn’t have noticed because everyone who said something was running IE, and I use Firefox almost exclusively and with great success in terms of not getting adware and spyware installed on my PC. So if you’ve noticed anything, please let me know. And if you know how this could have happened, I’m interested to hear that too - the html files had been changed somewhere along the way, and I sure didn’t do it.

Obsessed?

I can’t stop looking at the porcupines! They’re just too adorable!

EDITED: Ok I guess they’re actually hedgehogs. Doesn’t make them any less cute - and now I REALLY want one!

More Cuteness

Johnny didn’t share my enthusiasm, but these baby porcupines made me literally squeal with delight.

Just in Time

Left unfinished by Amy :) @ 4:19 pm

I get scrapbooking urges in fits and spurts throughout the year. I’m usually very motivated in January, and I get a lot done, then it cools off at the end of winter. Spring becomes busy so then in the summer I’m al pumped up to scrap a lot again, then the urge tapers off toward the beginning of fall. Then once again I’m gung-ho because I have Christmas cards to make and things I want to finish before the end of the year. I’m interested to see how/if that changes when I’m not working full time.

Anyway, for now I’m glad that I’m swinging back into motivation earlier than usual. I was SO scrappy earlier this year but toward the beginning of February my engine kind of crapped out again. I’ve been sitting here at work today with my mind all full of ideas though, right on schedule for my big scrapbooking retreat next weekend. This will be the 7th Columbus Scrappers retreat that I’ve gone to. The 7th one we’ve done - I’ve been to them all. I’m taking 2 days off work this time so I have the maximum amount of productive time. Of course, productive time includes chatting and playing games and taking a class in addition to doing my own scrapping, but it’s all good. It’ll be a nice getaway. I haven’t packed at all for it yet, but tonight I think I’ll start.
