Avast, Ye Scurvy Dogs

Left unfinished by Amy :) @ 1:44 pm

This weekend I went to my 8th Columbus Scrappers scrapbooking retreat. The theme this time around was Scraps Ahoy! I had a lot of fun finding all manner of piratical goodies like barrettes with skulls and crossbones, a Pirate Grrl pin and gummy skulls and crossbones (which were surprisingly yummy). I also borrowed a kickass pirate costume from Amanda which won me the costume contest!

Everyone was very impressed with the bodice. I was just glad to take it off after an hour and a half! It was worth it though, to win an album and a bottle of Prima flowers (very hot in the scrapping world right now).

I’m proud of the work I got done this time around. 7 pages for Jack’s scrapbook, 3 rounds of swap items and I learned how to make a new style of little tabletop display album. Productive weekend, and a lot of fun as usual. Now we need a theme for our spring retreat though. At this point the only one that’s been tossed around is Mardi Gras/Masquerade. Anyone have any other ideas?

You Can See Why I Was Startled

Biggest. Praying Mantis. Ever.

For some scale, those numbers are 3 inches tall. And that’s right next to the door handle.
