I Don’t Really Like Talking About My Flair

Left unfinished by Amy :) @ 11:52 am

Oh wait, yes I do.

I’m addicted to this new Facebook application I came across called Pieces of Flair. There are thousands of buttons to choose from and you can make your own, too. And even though it’s painfully obvious that Facebook (or at least this application) is used mainly by teenage girls, I still managed to find plenty to fill up my board with.

Flair!

Well I Feel Better About My Day Yesterday Now…I Think

Left unfinished by Amy :) @ 11:09 pm

Turns out I have mycoplasma pneumonia. I guess I actually have a valid reason for being so tired lately.

Left unfinished by Amy :) @ 2:33 am

* 6:00am, hit snooze button.
* 6:05am, repeat.
* 6:10am, one more time.
* 6:15am, turn off alarm when I also hear Johnny’s alarm going off.
* 6:25am, need shower, but will be late for work if I take one. Pull hair back and hope it doesn’t look too greasy.
* 6:45am, get to work just in time to clock in on time.
* 10:45am, clock out and leave work, and not a minute later than scheduled.
* 11:00am, get home and make poor choices re: breakfast.
* 11:30am, check email and usual websites.
* 12:30pm, make poor choices re: lunch.
* Early afternoon, laze around on couch in front of TV.
* 2:00pm, put Jack and self down for nap.
* 5:00pm, get self and Jack up from nap.
* 5:30pm, make poor choices re: dinner.
* Early evening, laze around on couch in front of TV.
* 9:00pm, make poor choices re: snacking.
* 9:30pm, play video games with Johnny.
* 11:00pm, turn video games off, begin messing around online.
* 3:30am, end blog post about my fruitful day.

Why yes, I am a 32-year-old woman who is responsible for the health and well-being of a toddler. What of it?

I’ve Actually Been Scrapping

Left unfinished by Amy :) @ 12:00 pm

Last Friday I went to a crop! My first one in months. I found out about it through a moms group I belong to online - the lady that hosted it is a Creative Memories rep and has a crop every month at a church about 8 blocks from my house. I can’t even tell you how excited I was to find a group to scrap with!

My goal was to get a good start on Jack’s first birthday album. Yes, he gets a whole album for his birthday, because we took a lot of pictures. I managed to get 11 pages done, and I’ve got 7 left to do. I should actually have it done before his second birthday, which is creeping up on us here (*gulp*). Anyway, here are a few of those pages. You can see them all on my Flickr page.

(I need to journal on this one about how Jack wouldn’t even taste the cake.)

There are 3 12×12 layouts in that set too. I did them a few months back and just found them as I was getting things semi-organized last week. Someday I’ll actually have my scrapping lair set back up, but for now I’m just going to keep going to crops. I have another one to go to next Friday!

I (heart) Sharpies

Left unfinished by Amy :) @ 3:53 pm

I have long had an intimate relationship with school supplies. Well ok, maybe not intimate, but definitely romantic. I love crayons, markers, pencils, pens, clean paper, folders, staplers, clips - you get the idea. In August when Back to School sales start happening, I always peruse. And in my current job, where I have to write on paper coffee cups with Sharpies, my obsession is encouraged. Even though we have markers at the store to use, I always carry one of my own in my apron pocket. And it’s always a clicky one.

I love clicky Sharpies. When they came out, I think I squealed in delight. Now they’ve got clicky ultra-fine tips too, but only in 3 colors right now. And even though they’re not the clicky ones, my obsessive nature makes me want to own all 39 colors of the original Sharpie. And now I read on LJCFYI that you can order personalized Sharpies! And you can get them in purple! I have not ordered any (yet), but here’s what I’d get if I did:

When clicky ones are available for personalization, you better believe I’ll be getting a dozen. Or 6 dozen. Or more.

Lousy Smarch Weather

Left unfinished by Amy :) @ 1:06 pm

Last Friday, with barely half an inch of slushy snow on the ground, I bundled Jack into 2 pairs of pants, 2 pairs of socks, a hooded bodysuit, boots, socks on his hands, a winter coat and mittens and took him out to play. We’ve had a decent amount of snow this year but none of it lasted very long because we’ve also had a lot of rain. I optimistically, foolishly, thought that maybe we’d better get the kid out for his first taste of the white stuff since we might not get any more until next winter. Alas, we’re slated to get 6 inches today. I just watched the first big flakes come down, and already they’re covering the grass. I’m so ready for spring. But until it decides to show its face, I do have some pictures.

And here’s the scene outside my window now, after starting this post just half an hour ago:

Looks like I may have some more snow pictures to share after all. Lousy Smarch weather.
