Unicron vs. Death Star: Who Ya Got?!
June 14th, 2007 by Woody!

Unicron vs. Death Star… inspired by Amy. Yep, this is not my fault. I never would have come up with something so nerdy if it weren’t for Amy. Although, someone else already came up with this battle scenario. And it looks like he wasn’t alone. One guy even drew pictures of the fight. Not great pictures but he gets the point across. He even came up with a sequel.
So, let’s answer the question: who would win. This poll says the Death Star would win. A commenter says Unicron is way bigger than the Death Star. Good details to tak into account when trying to figure out who emerges victorious in this Battle of the Planets. Wait, that’s a separate geek thing.
A Sock Point can be yours if you take part in this nerdly debate!

I would have to say that the Death Star would win the fight. It has the huge planet-destroying gun and could blast Unicron from a distance. I guess if Unicron were able to come up from behind and get close, it could be a different story. I mean come on, The Matrix of Leadership was able to take Unicron out. Surely a big ass planet-destroying laser could do the same.

Woody:
I’m going with the Death Star. There is no doubt that the huge planet-destroying gun would take care of business. Plus, you have Vader reading minds with his dark-side of the force powers.

I’m gonna have to go with Unicron on this one; he/it seems to be a little more maneuvrable and the Deathstar takes forever to get into a firing position (see the first Star Wars movie). A big gun isn’t worth much if you can’t get a clean shot at your target.

Don’t count Unicron out…I’m a little rusty on my Transformers lore but the Death Star was pretty slow, particularly Death Star production model 1.0. Not to mention it had to wait until a planet came into view…enough time for an X-wing squadron to close and blow it to pieces. Are we assuming that what Unicron lacks in long range destruction capabilities he also lacks in speed? If you think about it, he got more screen time as a floating head during the series than his cameos during the movie. Would a glancing blow by the Death Star be fatal to Unicron? Do you count the Death Star’s squadrons of Tie Fighters as part of the fight? Lastly, sure, Vader has the entire mind powers with the force; but do those powers really affect artificial intelligence?
My bet is that Unicron would get beat up pretty bad; but the Death Star’s a goner.

i had to go to three websites to be told what the unicron was. everyone knows of lord vader.
so the death star would win.

if a ragtag band of misfits could beat the most powerful force in the universe. a transformer would be in and out with no problem. shit give me optimus prime! i am sure he by himself could take out the death star.
by the way would vader really be able to read a transformers mind? just food for though here.

Ok. The concensus from the staff would have Death star on top. But…. my son is pulling for Unicron… Is that the five vehicle guy that combines into one? All I remember from childhood is Chris talking about Optimis Prime (sp). Not sure if he’s in the same category… Better luck with the next discussion:)

Unicron who? Death Star who? I am not saying I am not a nerd I am most certain in my own right. But, I can’t say I ever heard of these “people”.

I inspired this post, yet I still have no idea what the Unicron is! I keep thinking it’s a typo for unicorn. And there’s no debate about who would win between the death star and a unicorn.

Are we talking first death star or second death star? The one they were building in Jedi was a lot more powerful than the one in Star Wars… However, I’ll go with the Unicron, since the Death Stars were 0-2 against a rag-tag bunch of rebels…

It makes me sad that neither Amy knows who Unicron is and even sadder that A.L. doesn’t know what a Death Star is. Live under a rock much? Go rent Star Wars. Experience the movie that millions of people have seen at least ten times or more (for me it’s more). It will change your life.

Amy, I thought that it was a unicorn too. I think that a unicorn would beat both things because it has a lot of power in its horn.
