Friday Night Fights: Game Over, Videoman
February 29th, 2008 by Woody!

Nothing better than a good Spidey-pun to wrap up the work week. This special was based on the Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends cartoon that rocked my Saturday mornings.
“I have the speed of a cheetah!”
“Even a cheetah can be caught!”

Hey,that’s from the same show! Kraven the Hunter! I loved that show.Listening to Stan the Man’s narration, seeing guest heroes and villains.Only think I didn’t like was that stupid dog,Miss Lion. Well that and the way both guys hit on Firestar CONSTANTLY. Kraven was well-voiced (to young me at least)and Sergei was a good villain/antihero. I think my favorite episode was where Doom was trying to gain infinite power and it hit some shmoe on the street, who suddenly had all his wishes granted. Thanks for the flashback.

Wait, when was that comic published? It looks awfully modern compared to an early 80s cartoon show!

You’re right, Chris W. This is from this decade and just the one-time story trying to fit the concept into actual Marvel continuity. Although, there was a one-shot published during the life of the show back in the glorious 80s.

Remarkable. I vividly recall Video-Man from the TV show.
Did that show have a resurgence in popularity that I missed out on? Maybe it was released on DVD…
