Four Whole Years! Can You Believe It?

Yesterday was a special day for many reasons. Yeah, sure, the anniversary of the day I met the love of my life. That’s nice and all. But you know why else May 4th is special? That’s the day I started the blog. Four years ago yesterday. And every day since then I have put something on this site. It hasn’t always been great but it’s been something! Here we are with more than 1400 posts and 4500+ comments. And while it hasn’t always been the most exciting stuff, at least I’m not as bad as this fellow 4-year blogger.
So I guess that means that I’m supposed to toot my own horn and put together highlights from the past four years and create a clip show feel. Sounds like a great idea but that’s a little more work than I am prepared for. I have a hard enough time cranking out new material every day to put together a very special episode of the Sock Drawer. Maybe next year for the big half-decade celebration.
Or maybe I can have you do the work for me. Just share one of your Sock Drawer memories in the comment section. Maybe it was a heated debate or an amusing picture or a bizarre topic I went off about or just something dumb I said. Whatever sticks out in your mind about the experience of visiting this site. And, yes, you will get a patented Sock Point for your input to a big anniversary celebration. You deserve it for sticking with me and this site. Well, you deserve more, but that’s pretty much all I can offer.

I remember that “Two Whole Years! Can You Believe It?” post. That one will always stand out for me. The way you captured you feelings, inspired debate, the way it was yesterday’s post…..
Seriously, I enjoy checking up on this blog daily. Mostly because I am a sucker for prizes that don’t exist for contests that prove I have loads of useless pop culture knowledge.

When you say “love of my life” are you referring to some sort of snack food? HA! My favorite memories are the constant fat jokes I hit you with, seriously, they never stop being funny to me and really, what else matters?
Favorite post/comment is from a while ago where you found this article by some tool giving the reasons baseball is better than football. I managed to crush his entire article with one sarcastic line. It was one of my finest moments, which is horribly depressing. Great, now I’m depressed. Thanks a lot Woody, this anniversary sucks.

i have only been here about a year + now but i would have to agree with eric on the caption this being my favorite.
that and getting to talk to friends about the important things in life comics, movies, tv, sports, video games and whatever else is swirling around woody’s head.

congrats woody. obviously my favorite part of your blogs are the pictures from your trips to florida. and the caption contests. finally, whenever you sneak in a reference to “coming to america”—that’s always a highlight.
