Iron Shield

May 13th, 2008 by Woody!

Good news for fans of good movies: Iron Man was the #1 movie at the box office again. Despite Speed Racer’s debut, Ol’ Shellhead stayed at the top of the heap. I wouldn’t be surprised if the excelent word of mouth helped as well as people going back for another look. And some of those people think they may have spotted something: Captain America’s shield makes a cameo in the Iron Man movie.

Cap’s Shield In Iron Man

Do you see it there on the table behind him, under his armpit? Okay, not really. But it might be. Or a fascimile. But there seems to be enough evidence to suggest it is related somehow to Captain America. Apparently, Iron Man won’t be the only movie with a nod to Cap. It looks like Marvel is taking full advantage of keeping their characters in-house for movies, I’m looking forward to seeing much more of the Star-Spangled Avenger, as long as we don’t see Captain America as Matthew McConaughy like the rumor is.

Speaking of things that suck, the Iron Man video game is no good. It looks good and there might be something there but the repetitive roadblocks get old and kill a potentially cool game. Don’t get it. Don’t even rent it. Just go see the movie again.

    iron man
i wish we knew if we are going to get cap from the beginning, which might be a cool wwII flix or if we are going to get a thawed cap with flashbacks. i also like the fact that the main cast is all signed for iron man 2.

    Woody,
Am I really ahead of you on the comic book movie front? From what I’ve heard Marvel is making Hulk (previews already out), Captain America, Thor Ant-Man and Nick Fury movies. Then to be followed by an Avengers movie with all the characters. Cool idea bringing them together after they have introduced allthe heros with their own movies.
