Navigator My Ass
June 25th, 2008 by Woody!
I’ve been a little cranky lately and once again the blame goes to the stupid cable company. Time Warner unveiled their new Cable Navigator. And by “unveil” I mean they dumped it on us in the middle of the night. They’re passing it off as an “upgrade” while it actually takes more steps to do simple processes, it is more difficult to store and track my DVR content, and the damn thing isn’t recording the right shows. I’m not the only one displeased. Unfortunately, it sounds like they were federally mandated to change what they had before so there’s no going back.
I guess I should be thankful because I needed this. I have been relatively pleased with their service the last few months and considered just keeping Time Warner when I move to Lisa’s place. This is just one more reminder that their service sucks and will continue to do so and now is the time to try satellite. Then I read that Eric’s disapointed with his satellite provider. Yikes. Maybe they all blow.

I have Dish Network. We have signal from three different satellites. two work, one does not. Unfortunately, the satellite that we get zero signal from is the one that carries our local networks and HD channels. We haven’t been able to watch a network show for a full week now and have not been able to watch one without severe signal loss and picture blockiness for almost a full month. they have been out four times to ‘fix it’ but have yet to pin down the problem. they are coming again today and a ’supervisor’ is coming too. Fifth time’s the charm. I hope.

I have Direct TV and have never had a problem. My parents have Dish and they have all kinds of hastles.
Conclusion; Dish sucks.
