Time To Lay Down The Law For Fast Food
July 20th, 2008 by Woody!
A little piece of advice for fast food joints: sometimes it’s better just to close your doors. If something happens that does not allow you to provide the basic service you build your entire business model around, just close down. Sounds like business basics but I’ve run into this on several occasions. So let me be very clear.
If you are an Arby’s location that is out of roast beef, probably no point in you staying open.
And today was the worst offender. For god sakes, there’s no point in a Burger King being open if you can’t make a burger.
If you can think of similar experiences, I’ll give you a Sock Point for it. I ain’t out of those. If I was, I think I’d close down until I could provide them again.

That would be like my store running out of coffee. That hasn’t happened yet though!

Once while I worked at Friendly’s we ran out of vanilla ice cream. We still had all of the other flavors, but you’d be amazed by how many people HAVE to have vanilla. We would always run out of stuff at Friendly’s. Fries, ice cream flavors, cheese stix, and yes, burgers. I would imagine it is hard to avoid. Managers order food that they think they need for the week and then run out. Did think Burger King have tainted beef or something? They did have that stunt a while ago when they told people they were out of Whoppers so they could record the customer’s reactions for TV commercials. Personally, Burger King is the last on my list when it comes to fast food joints.

I recently ate a cup of fruit on the bottom yogurt that didn’t have any fruit on the bottom, does that count? It was peach, I love peach, was very depressed.
